The lounges at Llanyravon Court are light and spacious and have various areas to accommodate those that would like to watch the T.V., those that want to be quiet and those who would like to socialise with others. The lounges also provide excellent access to the large garden patio, and provide a focus for group entertainment and activities.
As Llanyrafon is a mixture of old and new build, rooms vary, but all are decorated to a high standard, and all have electric profiling beds. The majority have en-suite facilities. Our rooms at the back offer views of the either the garden or river whilst the rooms at the front overlook the pretty flower beds. We encourage our residents and families to bring in items such as pictures and ornaments to give the rooms a more personal feel, and residents can choses the colour scheme of their rooms.
The home benefits from the choice of walk in showers or Hi Lo baths, with ceiling hoists, to each floor. The home is also well equipped with electric hoists and stand aids.
There is a choice of picture menu each day, worked on a seasonal, six weekly rotation. All meals are nutritious and take into account individual preferences. Any special diets are catered for and snacks and hot or cold drinks are available at any time. Our kitchen staff are always obliging and cater for everyones needs.
There are various activities, tailored to meet individual needs, carried out, either on a solo basis or as a group, by our activity staff. We have activity staff who are here Monday to Friday and they organise entertainment from singing to crosswords, flower arranging to cake decorating. We have regular outside entertainers and also have monthly church services.
The home employs a team of laundry and domestic staff, to ensure the residents always have clean clothes and the home maintains a clean environment.
We have a lovely garden with raised beds which our residents tend too as well as our gardener. The patio area overlooks the Afon Llwyd river.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING
All staff receive mandatory training, which is updated regularly and most staff are very experienced in caring for the elderly. Most carers are trained to QCF level 2 and some to level 3. Registered nurses are in attendance throughout the day and night. Their training complies with the NMC through revalidation to maintain their professional Registration.
